English Language is the official language and language of instructions right from the primary school level to tertiary institutions in Nigeria.  This status has made its teaching mandatory at the formative stages of primary and post primary schools.  Its teaching is confronted with difficulties in inconsistencies and exceptions in grammatical structures which negatively impact in the learners’ vocal and written communication. These difficulties can be ameliorated by provisions of instructional assistance and intellectual supports by teachers in identifying and emphasizing the difficult areas in grammatical structure of English language.
